Question 6-Evaluation- What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?

This is the link to a prezi presentation I have made about what I have learnt throughout the constructing my product via using the softwares available. It consists of my feelings towards the softwares at first, what I previously knew, what i have learnt and evidence is given to show my understanding of them.

Question 7-Evaluation- Looking forward towards your main task, what do you feel you have learnt about the production process that will help you as you approach the full product?

I feel that the development for the preliminary task went fairly well. It is clear to me that time management is a vital element to making my coursework successful and up to its highest standards. As the deadline came closer, I realised that I was pushed for time and behind schedule on completing the final product. There was a big lack of motivation on my behalf that lead me to slow paced working; this affected the look of my final product as the front cover was rushed. If I was to change anything it would be my front cover key image as I did not have an image that was suitable for my front page until the day before it was due. The other images were done beforehand which is why my contents page to me personally looks fairly professional and of a substantial standard. The key image on the front page however is fairly blurred and although the colour match was effective, the picture was just too much with it. Therefore if time management was constructively used then my front page would be better.
If my planning had been more structured and I had set a time schedule I would have been able to produce a better media product as I lacked urgency. My final production is based around one of the draft drawings of front cover and contents pages. However they are not identical, as the key image on the draft front cover is of a girl singing but my final production sees a boy playing the keyboard. However my contents pages fully sticks by the draft drawing which is why it was more successful as I spent more time on it and had a draft that I was certain on and had positivity about. A problem that I feel I need to overcome is my negativity and panic. When I become panicked I shut down and give up which is a bad habit to have as I need to use all the time I have possible. My negative thinking brings me down and makes me lose faith in my capabilities and my thoughts of my final production.

It is clear that development drafts are vitally essential for making my product a success as the feedback received is from those whom would be reading it therefore there advice cannot be wrong. There feedback did help me a lot as I managed to create a front cover and contents page that catered to the audiences needs and that is the most important thing.

One of the biggest contributed factors to the slow paced working is that this was the first year in which I have studied Media, therefore I was not familiar with the software as much as I would’ve liked to be, I also joined media late so everyone had a head start which made me lose confidence in myself due to knowing that I was the only person uncertain. However I did research tutorials on how to do certain techniques on these software’s which was broadening my knowledge along with this I was never afraid to ask for help. Due to researching and using the preliminary task to gain a wider knowledge of photo shop and In Design  I am now confident with using them and feel that I need little help than I did before. When it comes to my final music magazine I will create a fixed timetable, highlighting when I should be doing it, therefore I will have to make good use of study periods and lesson time.

Question 5- Evaluation- How did you attract/address your audience?

After I had produced my final front page and contents page, I asked members of Trinity School to sum it up in one word each, these are the responses I received produced onto a wordle.

Question 4- Evaluation- Who would be the audience for your media product?

One of the target audiences would be for those looking to apply to Trinity School as it gives the children and parents an insight into the music department of Trinity School, with positive and successful pictures to entice them. However this could also be for parents of the pupils currently at Trinity so they are constantly informed and updated on the school and their children’s progress in order to feel proud of them. It is clearly targeted partly at adults due to using some words in which year 7 and below would not be fully aware of yet such as outstanding and exclusive. Those who attend trinity may also be interested in reading it to so they can feel proud of themselves and hopefully entice those not involved to get involved.  However for reasons other than attending Trinity, people who have an interest in music may wish to read it as it would cater to their interests. However as Trinity school is a Church of England school then members of church of England churches may want to read it to be informed of upcoming events that the public are welcome to. There is no particular type of person that this is aimed at, it is for any sex, age and race due to the variety in all of these shown on my images.

Question 3- Evaluation- What kind of institution might distribute your media product and why?

It is clear that my magazine is a school institution due to the school uniform and the setting of the images. Due to it being a school magazine, Trinity School itself will distribute this magazine for the pupils to feel proud of what they’ve achieved and for those looking to come to Trinity School. The mode of address isn’t complex but caters to an adult and child reader with basic language. Local Churches may also distribute this magazine as the school is a Church of England School therefore those attending church will be aware of schools available that share the same beliefs. I personally don’t think that a shop would distribute these magazines as it is free therefore they would not gain any profit. Apart from the money side of things, there would be a safety problem with doing so as it makes the magazine available to absolutely anyone be them safe or unsafe.

Question 2-Evaluation- How does your media product represent particular social groups?

Question 1- Evaluation- In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?
